Costas Andrea is the managing director of Andrea Law and has been undertaking cross border litigation since 1988, qualifying as a solicitor in 1990.

As well as setting up and running the law firm of Andrea & Co from 1997 to 2003, Costas has also been equity partner in two of England’s leading law firms – Penningtons and Blake Lapthorn. Costas merged the firm of Andrea & Co with Penningtons in 2003, which has gone on to win the International Travel Insurance Industry award for best legal services provider in 2012. In 2006, Costas set up the international travel unit at Blake Lapthorn, which went on to win the ITIJ award for best legal services provider in 2013..

Further, Costas has recruited and trained many solicitors who are now recognised as specialists in this area of the law and partners in the travel units of leading law firms in England.

Throughout his career, Costas has worked on many complex and high profile cross border injury claims and fatalities, creating legal precedent. 

He has been listed in Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession as a leader in the field of Travel and Tourism and has lectured nationally and internationally on foreign litigation and travel insurance related matters as well as writing numerous published articles, e.g. International Travel Insurance Journal and Private Healthcare News. Costas has also been a consultant to the BBC and Holiday Which? magazine.

For many household names in travel and legal expenses insurance, Costas has trained and supervised their claims departments, as well as undertaking recovery work for them and damages claims for their insureds over many years. He also advises travel insurers on policy wordings and issues of indemnity, as well as drafting terms and conditions and claim forms.  Costas has set up and operates international third party subrogation claims for travel insurers seeking recovery of outlay and paid benefits in many countries worldwide.
